System Restore Points provides a better way to undo any change made to the Windowsafter you have installed a software or done some changes that does not work up to your expectation.

The computer restores the system to some older System Restore Points, points when our system was working absolutely fine and up to our expectations. But this feature requires some space to store the Restore Points to be able to restore.

You would also have noticed the hard disk space getting increasing and decreasing on its own this is because the restore points get created and deleted automatically. One of our readers also wanted to know how to delete the System Restore Points.

Steps:

1. You can put a limit on memory space used by the System Restore Points. Go toSystem Properties -> System Restore tab and click settings. Here you can move the slider to choose the amount of space for the System Restore Points in each drive.

2. But if you want to delete the already created then right click on C Drive (example) and click on Disk Cleanup.

3. Now choose the More Options tab and in the System Restore section click Clean Up.

4. This will delete all the System Restore Points except the most recent one created and will free up most of your hard disk space.

Enable or Disable the Shutdown Button in Windows

Here is a cool trick to play a prank on some of your friends. Using this trick you can eitherDisable Shutdown button from the Start Menu which will make the Turn Off option hidden or re-enable the removed Shutdown option..

One of our readers came across this problem that his Shutdown button was disabled due to some virus, so here are the steps to either enable the option or deliberately disable it.

Steps:

1. Open the Registry Editor by typing regedit in the Run box.

2. Navigate to the keyHKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

3. Now on the right side, create a DWORD value with the name NoClose as shown

4. Now double click to give it a value of 0 (if you want to enable the Shutdown button) or 1 (if you want to disable the Shutdown button).

After you restart the computer, your Shutdown option will get removed from the Start Menu and it will also not appear if you hit Alt + F4.

Tutorial 1 – Installing Themes in Vista Using Tune Up Utilities

Step 1 - Download and Install Tune Up Utilities from Here

Step 2 – Open It and click Customize Windows (at Left handside)

Step 3 - Click Visual Style ( Botton of Left hand Side)

Step 4 – Now Click on Add > “Install Visual style from File”

Step 5 – Choose the Visual Style ( .msstyles or .theme format ) you had downloaded from your Hard Disk.

Step 6 – Click on “Apply Visual Style” to make it work.

Tutorial 2 – Installing Themes in Vista By Patching Uxtheme Patch

√ Download This Pack Of Software & Patches which you Need to Install Themes in Vista SP0 & SP1-

√ After Downloading , Extract the Folder and you will Find Take Control , uxtheme pactches for Vista SP1 and SP2 both for 64 & 32 bit Vista .

To install themes on Windows XP you need to follow these steps -

Instructions :-

√ Before using any XP Visual Style or Theme you need uxtheme patched for your window XP. If your uxtheme is not patched, download and Install

-> Uxtheme-Multi Patcher <- for XP.

√ Extract (If the folder is .zip or .rar) and Open the desired downloaded theme folder.

√ Copy the Folder containing Visual Style (.msstyles) , Shell style (if included) , .theme file (if included) to c:/windows/resources/themes or You can also apply Visual Styles directly from any folder as long as you don’trename/delete/move it.
